emmaus walk bulletin: 16 Feb

Dear all Walkers,

Yesterday, we commemorated 70 years since the fall of Singapore in World War II with Total Defence Day. There are 5 pillars to the Total Defence: Military, Economic, Civil, Psychological and Social.

However, we as Christian people should also remember Spiritual Defence, as the pillar that supports everything that we do. Let us continue to boost our Spiritual Defence by journeying as a community here at Emmaus Walk. In Total Defence, we learn that "no one owes us a living, we must ourselves defend Singapore". In Spiritual Defence, as a community, "we owe our spiritual lives to one another, we must support one another and not journey alone".

continues at 7:30pm at Prayer Room. We start with some silent Eucharistic Adoration, followed by Scripture reflection, group sharing and closing intercessory prayers. Do join us and boost your spiritual defence!

Announcements:

1. Testify to Love rally
This will take place on Sat 18 Feb, 7-10pm, at CJC Performing Arts Centre. This is organised by our brothers and sisters at School of Witness, as part of the outreach component of the program. Do come and support them, hear their edifying and amazing testimonies and just testify to Jesus' love for each and every one of us!

2. Ash Wednesday Mass timings
Ash Wednesday happens next Wed, 22 Feb. Mass timings at our parish are:
Tue 21 Feb - 8pm (Mandarin)
Wed 22 Feb - 6:30am (English), 6:30pm (English), 8pm (Mandarin).

Ash Wednesday is a day of fast and abstinence for all from 18 to 60 years old. Eat less, pray more.
