emmaus walk bulletin: 14 July

Hey all Walkers!

We're into the middle of the month, and there really isn't anything else to look forward to, since the World Cup has ended and EPL doesn't start till August... or is there??? The only way to find out is to come for CG this Sunday!

Last Week in CG

We continue the theme of Christian Service. Previously, we examined our readiness to respond to God's call to go out and proclaim the Good News to all, and bring His peace to people we encounter in our lives. Last Sunday, we reflected on the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). The attitude of the Samaritan towards a Jew, who is his enemy, is the example that we should all take after. It is not about who our neighbours are, but who we make ourselves neighbour to. We should not be afraid to get our hands or even our reputations dirty, as we stop by others and stoop down to help them.

This Week in CG

Sometimes when we are busy involving ourselves in serving ourselves, we tend to overlook certain important points. What are these points? Find out this Sunday! (Passage: Luke 10: 38-42.)

Announcements
1) Youth Night (24 July) and Youth Mass (31 July)
Come and join the youths of Nativity in fellowship and love! Ben Tan wants to emphasise the free food at the former event, and in the latter, the spanking new auditorium will be officially opened. Please give your names to Sebby if you are coming for the Youth Night as they need to cater food and thus need the numbers. For more details on either event, contact Ben Tan (97314935).

2) Ignatian Discernemnt Retreat (6 - 8 Aug)
Find out how to discern the Ignatian way. For brothers only. For more information, see attached poster.

3) Parish Feastday Stall
It's back! Following the highly successful Walkers' Cafe last year, we are going to have another one this year and it will be even better! To help out, contact Elaine (97665492) or Kenneth (98377723).

4) Bread Run (Wednesdays)
Bread Run continues on Wednesdays, and for those who still do not know, a group of us will collect unsold bread donated by bakeries and hand them out at various areas in Singapore where homeless people spend the nights on the public benches or areas. For more information on how to help out, contact Trudy or Dwayne, or read their email which goes out every Monday.

OK that is all from me, have a lovely week ahead!

In His Love,
barry
