emmaus walk special announcement: 14 Feb (with lots of love!)

Dear all Walkers,

Hope your weekend has been restful! As we begin a new week of work/school/NS/etc, here's a special announcement:

The Tana River Life Foundation
The Tana River Life Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that aims to assist members of the local communities, around the Tana River Delta region in Kenya, and help them nurture their talents and potential so that they have the freedom and ability to make meaningful choices in their lives. The TRLF runs several programmes that serve to provide and support opportunities for education and vocation training. For more information, please click on the link above.

The founder is Gabriel Teo. He is from Malaysia, studied and worked in Singapore, and has spent the last 16 years in Kenya. A close friend of Fr Henry's, he also came last year around this time to share with EW about the TRLF. You can read last year's write-up here.

What is needed?
Gabriel, together with Eddy, one of the early beneficiaries of TRLF, has been collecting donated clothing for distribution to the communities around the Tana River Delta region. Help is needed to sort, fold and pack these clothes for shipment back to Kenya. Currently, everything is being stored at A-Wing 2 so all the action is taking place there.

When can I help?
Monday (14/2): 3pm - 8pm
Tuesday (15/2): 10am - 8pm
Wednesday (16/2): 3pm - 8pm
Thursday (17/2): 10am - 8pm
Just give Gabriel or Eddy a ring at 92320222 if you are coming down to ensure that they are around.

We may not be able to go to far-flung places to serve needy people, but we can help others who are able to do so. If you have the time, please do drop by A-Wing 2 and they'll appreciate all the help they can get.

Have a blessed week ahead!

In His Love
