emmaus walk bulletin: 20 May

Dear all Walkers,

Last Sunday in CG
We started our five-part series on Salvation History by Fr Kenson with Part One: Creation. A quick summary:

At Creation: God's Spirit was present, and He created by uttering His Word. God creates out of nothing, and His creation has a hierarchy (with Man right at the top). God's Breath (Hebrew:ruah) has power and gives life. God's Word is not random, not impulsive, not haphazard. Man was created with a purpose, and there is Grace in Creation. Grace can be thought of as simply God's love. Man's place right at the top of the hierarchy means Man needs to be stewards of Nature and be ecologically responsible.

Our spiritual life: The material world can be helpful in building our spiritual life. To pray is to allow the Lord to lead us where He wants us to go. We need to allow the Spirit to animate our prayer, and the Word to create grace in us. God is not about feeling, God is about knowing. We may not be able to feel God all the time, but we know He is here all the same. We should balance our physical and spiritual lives, in order to fully enjoy God's Creation.

This Sunday in CG
Join us as Fr Kenson brings us Part Two: Election. Not the kind of elections we saw a few weeks ago, but the kind whereby we are chosen by God. Come and see!
