emmaus walk bulletin: 3 March

Dear all Walkers,

Why is it that Adam and Eve could not have been Chinese?
Because if Satan took the form of a snake and tempted them to eat the forbidden fruit, Eve would have said, "Quick, Adam! Catch the snake also! Snake also can eat, mah!"

Why is it that Adam and Eve could not have been Malay?
Because if Satan took the form of a snake and tempted them to eat the forbidden fruit, both Adam and Eve would have said to him, "Relac lah! Tomorrow also can eat!"

Why is that Adam and Eve could not have been Indian?
Because they would have conned the snake into eating the apple.

Last Sunday in CG
We reflected on our anxieties and fears (Matt 6:24-34). Our fears highlight areas of our lives that are unprotected, undernourished and undeveloped. Our fears can also help us to grow closer to God, when we lift them up to Him. We are assured that even if a mother should forget her child, God will never forget us (Isaiah 49:14-15).

This Sunday in CG
Join us as we explore the idea of Jesus as the Rock of our lives. He is indeed the people's champion, so let us smell what He is cooking!

Announcements
1) New groupings for 2011
We have new sharing groups starting from 1st Sunday of Lent! Do join us to find out which group you're in!

2) New start time for CG
Starting from 1st Sunday of Lent, we will be starting CGs at 6:45pm. Currently, we start around 7:45-8:00pm and tend to end at 10:15pm or later, and this is not very good for our brothers and sisters who have to work/go to school early the next day. With the new start time, we hope that we'll end by 9:00-9:15pm and this gives us more time for supper and fellowship, and those who have an early start the next morning can get more rest too.

If you are attending 5:30pm Mass, please have some food in the afternoon, and be prepared to have a late dinner after CG, instead of having dinner immediately after Mass.

For those of you who have been finding it difficult to come for CG due to the late end time, we hope that this change in timing will suit you better and give you more sleep too.

Ok that's all from me... Have a blessed weekend and see you this Sunday!
