Dear all Walkers,
Hope you had a blessed Chinese New Year break! Amidst the festivities, remember this: it's not the money that you lost, it's the company that you gained :-)
Farewell, and all the best
1. Fletcher left for Tasmania, Australia on Tuesday to pursue his medical studies. Let us wish him all the best and keep him in prayer on this challenging journey!
2. Anthony begins serving this nation today. We wish him a very wonderful and enriching time, figuring out which trees to touch and doing the opposite of what the sergeant says (e.g. "take your time ah" = "faster!!!")...
Your new servants
The new exco has completed their discernment, and with the grace of God i present the new exco:
Head: Barry
Vice-head: Elaine
Treasurer/Logistics: Adeline
a) CG programme: Amanda
CGL coordinator: Michelle
others: Adeline, Jeremy, Barry
b) PnW coord: Kevin, Jeremy, Elaine
c) Outreach projects: Elaine, Michelle, Barry
Thank you for all your support and presence, else we would have no community to serve. Please continue to pray for the exco, for "unless the Lord builds the house, in vain do its builders labour" (Ps 127:1).
This Sunday
1) Gabriel, a friend of Fr Henry's, who is running the Tana River Life Foundation in Kenya, will be sharing with us about his work and experiences in mission work.
2) We will also have 2 sharings on Project Sunshine held on Sat, 29 Jan.
Do join us for CG!
In other news...
1) Chingay Festival Celebration (Hougang Mall, 13 Feb)
Last call for helpers to set up (2-5pm), please approach Ignatius Ng / Derek Foo from the youth side if you would like to help!
2) Rite of Christian Initiation for Youths
i'm really not sure who actually replies based on emails, but so far no one seems to have come forward to help. People inquiring about the faith cannot possibly discover it all on their own. Do consider journeying with youths, who are called to find out more about God. There's not going to be a bright beam of light striking them down ala St Paul, so it's us who will need to be the voice of Jesus. Please do let me know if you would like to give it a try! Fr Henry would like to convene the helpers by end Feb so there is not much time left, so do pray about it and come forward to help!
3) 40-hour Eucharistic Adoration (24-26 June)
It's possible to get the parish involved in adoring Jesus for 40 hours, but we need people to come forward to make it happen. If you would like to help, please let Clare know soon as possible.
OK that is all from me, have a blessed rest-of-the-week and see you on Sunday!
In His Love
