emmaus walk bulletin: 03 Feb

Dear all Walkers,

Welcome to the year of the Rabbit! What better way to start off this new lunar year than with a reprisal of a great rabbit story from last year...

A bear and a rabbit are taking a dump in the forest. The bear asks the rabbit if it minds getting poo on its fur. The rabbit says no. So the bear picks up the rabbit and wipes its bottom with it.

ELECTIONS
After nominations, exactly 7 brothers and sisters were nominated: Adeline, Amanda, Barry, Elaine, Jeremy, Kevin Chen and Michelle. Our new EW exco was thus confirmed without the need to go ahead with voting. Thank you all for your prayers and support, by way of your presence and otherwise!

Let us also take a moment to thank our ex-exco, comprising Adeline, Amanda, Barry, Deborah, Elaine, Isaac, Michelle and Sebby. Deborah steps down to concentrate on YEW, Isaac to continue leading the NUS Catholic Students' Society, and Sebby to focus on being Catechist Coordinator. It has been an amazing and blessed journey in the last 2 years, and we thank God for showering us with so much more than we can ever recall and be thankful for.

We ask you to continue keeping the new exco in your prayers as they discern their roles and God's direction for the EW community. This EW community works only because of all your support and prayers and efforts. So thank you, and thank God for all the blessings He has showered on us in the past 2 years!

Upcoming CG Schedule
6 Feb: No CG due to Chinese New Year
13 Feb: Time to be generous: we have a special sharing by Gabriel, Kenyan missionary and Fr Henry's friend, on his work in Kenya, and also a sharing on Project Sunshine..

Other announcements
1) Chingay Festival (Sun 13 Feb, Hougang Mall)
The youths will be helming this project and if you would like to help set up and run the stalls between 2-5pm, please let Barry know. The youths in charge are Ignatius Ng and Derek Foo.

2) Rite of Christian Initiation for Youths - RCIY (Starts June onwards)

If you feel a calling to help with RCIY as sponsors or facilitators or in any other capacity, please let Barry know by mid-Feb so that Fr Henry can arrange for a meeting with the coordinators.

3) End-Year Retreat 2011 Committee
This is still open and if you want to serve in the committee, let Elaine know asap so we can arrange a meeting soon.

4) 40-Hour Eucharistic Adoration (24-26 Jun)
Remember the prayer-marathon last year? It's back and we need hands to make it a success. Let Clare know if you can help in anyway!

Ok that's all from me, have a blessed time eating, visiting or just resting during this festive period!

In His Love
