Since the A level Maths exam is just around the corner, here are two mathematical sayings for you: 1) There are 3 kinds of people in this world; those who can count, and those who can't. 2) Studies have shown that five out of three people can't do fractions.
Last Sunday in CG
We had a very Spirit-filled Reconciliation session! Many thanks to Bro Cornelius for helming the session, the SACCRE people for helping with the praying over, and most importantly Fr Henry for working OT to reconcile us with God!
This Sunday in CG
We have heard about who the Holy Spirit is, and how He can help us achieve freedom to do God's work, and we have prepared ourselves by reconciling with God, so now it's time for outpouring! The very well-endowed (with talents and the Holy Spirit, that is) team from SACCRE will lead us through this session. Come and pray for the Spirit to touch your lives and be prepared to accept His gifts. Our focus is on the giver of the gifts, not the gifts themselves, so that is why we're having Outpouring immediately after Reconciliation. Even if you haven't gone for Recon, do join us in any case!
Announcements
1) Introducing the newly engaged couple
Our very own Jeremy and MIchelle are now engaged! It was a very sweet and surprising proposal last Sunday at Bliss restaurant, and wedding bells are ringing soon!
2) Condolences
Please pray for Adeline's family as her grandfather passed away this week. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
3) Confirmation Camp (4-7 Nov)
Please continue to pray for all the confirmands, facilitators and organisers! May the Holy Spirit come down on them and fire them up for the spritual journey ahead!
4) End Year Retreat (18-22 Dec, Malacca)
We still need facilitators so that this retreat can happen! If you have sufficient leave and can spare the time, do join us on this journey! Contact Isis or Jerry if you can help, and they will love you deep deep!!!
5) SACCRE events
You've seen the speakers over the last 3 weeks, now get to know their community better! Two upcoming events for you to attend:
First is Set Free Retreat, 13 & 14 Nov @ Queen of Peace (more details in attachment)
It is a non-stay in retreat for inner healing, release of emotional bondages, deliverance, etc.
Some of you might think why would a young person need to go for healing retreats? We have the vitality of youth, at the prime of life... Isn't it usually the old people who flock to healing stuff?
But healing is not just for physical ailments, it also extends to the things inside, that the eyes don't see... ailments that we may not be even aware of ourselves, let alone think we can be set free from. This is the healing for the soul, the heart, our emotions, our memories of past hurts... This is inner healing, and you can be sure young people too have need to healed in the heart.
It can be healing for depression, rage, various addictions (pornography, smoking, alcohol, etc.), self-loathing, past traumas, broken relationships, unforgiveness... Jesus is here to set people free from all that.
If you've never gone for one before, it's good to go even if you feel that everything is well in life... Who knows what the Lord wants to restore in your life that you're not even aware of? =)
Adults pay $50 for this retreat, but for those of you who are students, there will be a 50% discount so you only pay $25!
Second is a talk for young people titled "Stand Your Ground", held in IHM Church Upper Room on 17 Nov (public holiday), 2 to 5 pm
Based on the theme of John 10:9-10, we're asking Fr. Vella and Diana to share on the Evil One and how he is targeting young people today. But more importantly, how we can live a life to the full in Jesus Christ. Read more about it in the attachment.
This is a free event, a message we want ALL young people to hear, so you bring yourself, your ministry members and your friends to come together!
Ok that is all from me, till this Sunday, see you!
