emmaus walk bulletin: 18 November

Dear all Walkers,

One day, our beloved minister (BM) went to Thailand and had lobster for dinner with the Thai King. After he had finished, he asked the King....

BM: Your Highness, what can you do with this lobster shell?
King : We cannot do anything with it, we just throw it away.
BM: Oh, no. In our country, we send it to the factory and produce prawn crackers.

Then BM had an orange. After he had finished, he asked the King.
BM: What can you do with the orange skin?
King : We cannot do anything. We just throw it away.
BM: Oh, no. In Singapore, we send it to the factory and produce orange jam.

Then BM asked for some chewing gum. After he had finished, he put it on the plate and asked the King.
BM: What can you do with the chewing gum?
King: Oh, no. We just throw it away.
BM: In Singapore, we send it to the factory to produce condoms and then send it to Thailand.

BM was about to leave but then the King asked him...
King: What do you do with the condom when you finish using it?
BM: We cannot do anything. We just throw it away.
King: In Thailand, when we finish using the condom, we send it to the factory to produce chewing gum and then send it back to Singapore!!!

And that is the reason why chewing gum is banned in Singapore.

Last Sunday in CG
We had a wonderful session by Bro Oka on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. It's not about the number of gifts, or what gifts are better. It's about how we use the gifts to bless others. The gifts we have should not be confined to the four walls of the prayer meet room, but should be used everywhere we go, in order to reach out to all the world that God wants us to.

This Sunday in CG
This Sunday, the last Sunday of the liturgical year, we conclude our series on the Holy Spirit with the topic "Mission: Aligning our desires with the Will of God", by our brother Sury from SACCRE. Even if you have missed out on all the sessions before that, do join us for this one! It may be the concluding session for this series, but it really serves to show us how to start walking with God through the guidance of His Spirit in our everyday lives. Do join us!

Announcements:
1) End Year Retreat (18-22 Dec, Malacca)
We want you! Facilitate or participate. Just be there! Quick, registration takes place outside the church at our booth after all English Masses this weekend!

2) EYR Prayer Hour
will not be held this Sunday as the EYR committee will be having a meeting, but you are invited to stop and say a Rosary at approximately 4pm for the intentions of EYR :)

3) Youth on Eagle's Wings
YEW needs committed young adults/overaged teenagers to help plan sessions for next year's programme. If you would like to be a part of this important endeavour to provide a support for the post-Confirmation group of youths, contact Moses!

Ok that's all from me, hope to see you on Sunday!

In His Love,
barry
