emmaus walk bulletin: 9 Sep

Dear all Walkers,

Yesterday (8 Sep), the Church celebrated the Nativity of the BVM, the actual day! Let us give thanks to God for the gift of our wonderful Mother!

Jesus was walking around Heaven one day and he noticed there were people standing around who had no business beng there. Some were supposed to spend more time in Purgatory, others would have had to make a special appeal to get in. He went to look for St. Peter, "You, the keeper of the keys to Heaven, are not doing your job properly! Why are all these people walking around when they are not supposed to be here?" St. Peter replied, "I did turn them away! But as soon as I had, they went around to the back gate and your mother let them in!"

Last Sunday in CG

Our AA batteries, Adeline and Amanda, began a new series of CGs on the theme of "Love" and we reflected on 1 Cor 13:1-8, 13. (St. Paul's discourse on love). What is your definition of love? How do you love others?

This Week

No CG this Sunday as everyone will be busy with the feastday celebrations, but as Amanda and Adeline are both teachers, you will get homework, which they will send out soon! Join us next Sunday, we resume CGs and they will share with us about C.S. Lewis' book " The Four Loves".

The seminarians at Punggol are organising this workshop that promises to equip you witht he right tools so that you can discern about your vocation: singlehood, married life, priesthood, religious life, etc. For more information, go to http://www.sfxms.org.sg/discern_tools_Oct10.html.

4) Confirmation Camp (4 -7 Nov, Nativity Church)

Facilitators are needed for Confirmation Camp. Do approach Sebby if you would like to help. Show them that Confirmation is not graduation from church life...

5) End-Year Retreat: Man in the Mirror (18-22 Dec, Malacca)
There has not been news for a while about EYR, and that's because Isis and her committee are busy with all the background work, but now there is something that everyone can take part in, regardless of whether you can actually go for the EYR!

EYR Prayer hour
- happens every Sunday from 4-5pm at the Prayer Room. It's an hour of prayer (adoration / taize / intercessory / etc) devoted to the intentions of EYR. All of you are welcome to join in for prayers, and we really need lots of prayers as we carry out this endeavour. Do come if you have an afternoon free!

EYR facilitators
- one of the ways young adults can contribute is to mentor / reach out to youths and journey with them. One of the best ways to do this is through being a facilitator for EYR. Please contact Isis or Jerry if you would like to help.

Ok that is all (finally), see you at the funfair!!!

In His Love,
barry
