emmaus walk bulletin: Aug 5

Dear all Walkers!

As the week winds down and you savour the thoughts of the upcoming long weekend while getting through the last day of work / school / unemployment, here is something which gives us some thought to how we approach our prayer life:

One day at the beginning of Mass, the priest did his usual greetings. However, the microphone was not working very well. He made the sign of the cross, but found that there was no more sound coming through the speakers. So he exclaimed loudly, "There is something wrong with the mike!" And the congregation replied, "And also with you!"

Last Sunday in CG

We wrapped up our series on Christian Service with the screening of "The Fourth Wise Man". i shall not put spoilers here, but you can find the short story that it is based on, titled "The Other Wise Man" by Henry Van Dyke. We also had a heartfelt sharing from some of the Bread Run regulars. Bread Run is truly a marvellous example of true Christian Service, and i urge you to join in if you can spare the sleep and the time.

This Sunday in CG

We begin a new series of examining our personal lives and looking for direction in life. Do join us! We also begin new sharing groups, randomly formed to allow for greater mixing of the community.
