Dear all Walkers,
Today, we celebrate the feast of the birth of Mary. Happy birthday to our Blessed Mother!
Interesting trivia: The vey first ever Legion of Mary meeting was held 90 years ago on 7 Sep, at 8pm, in Dublin, Ireland.
For more information about Legion of Mary, see the Concilium (the highest body of the Legion of Mary) page, or the Wikipedia page.
Last Sunday in CG
The PnW team (Chris, Charlotte and Johnathan) led the prayer session. It was a time of worship, reflection and just sharing about our lives and experiences. Thank God for the gift of our brothers and sisters in this community!
This Sunday (and the next few ones too)
Our parish is celebrating her feastday, and we are going to have a very happening time! We will be having a photo booth where parishoners can have their photos taken and printed on the spot as a momento of the festivities. As such, we need your help to support support! Do click here to sign up and lend us a helping hand. This is a new idea and a change from our usual cafe, so we hope to be able to make it a success! For more information on the booth and its location etc etc, check with Michelle Lin.
There will be a special talk, 3:00 - 4:30pm, on "Jesus the Servant Leader" by Professor Tom Kosnik, all the way from Stanford University. It is a rare privilege to have such a distinguished speaker in our midst, so do come and listen, and learn how to be a true leader like our Lord! For more information, contact Audrey Tan.
With so much happening, we will thus have no CG session at the usual timeslot, and CG will resume next week 18 September.
--------------------
On 25 September, there will be a gathering for the youth and young adults of our parish. i would like to invite you to this session. The purpose of this session is to explore and discuss the needs of youths and young(er) adults, in order to have an active and vibrant parish life. This is a great opportunity to discuss what other things the parish can do for you, and in particular what Emmaus Walk can do for you. We really would like to hear from you! The programme for the day will be as follows:
2 - 5: Praise and Worship, testimonies by youth leaders, INPUT FROM YOU in group sharing form, consolidation of points
5 - 5:30: Prepare for Mass
5:30 - 6:30: Sunday Evening Mass
6:30 - 8: DInner and fellowship
In view of this, there will be no EW CG on that day in the evening. This gathering will be our CG time for the day.
i really hope that you will come and share your hopes, dreams, expectations, needs, queries, anything at all. Our aim is to build up the young people and empower you to play a much more active role in this parish.
This takes us to the end of September. With so much happening in the next few weeks, it promises to be a very eventful month ahead!
OK that is all i have for you this week, do see you around on Sunday(s)!
In His love,
barry
for Emmaus Walk
