emmaus walk bulletin: 11 November

Dear all Walkers,

Joe, working in an office somewhere, picked up his desk phone and called his colleague in another department to gripe about a memo that the CEO had just sent out, but he unknowingly dialled the CEO's extension instead. As soon as the other end was through, Joe started to talk about the memo and how stupid he felt the CEO was. There was silence at the other end when Joe was done, and then the following conversation took place.
CEO: Do you know who I am?
Joe: Er, no...
CEO: This is the CEO.
Joe: Oh. Do you know who I am?
CEO: No idea.
Joe: Ok good.
Then Joe hung up.

Something to take note of as we approach the end of another week! Check who you're calling before you start speaking, and learn to think on your feet!

Last Sunday in CG

We had a very uplifting session with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Many of us felt the Spirit move in us and many lives were touched! Thanks to all who came, especially those who were helping at Confirmation Camp and were actually very tired by then! Let us also thank our friends from SACCRE who did the whole session, and also Brother Cornelius for being there to pray for and over us!

This Sunday in CG
Having focused on the Giver of gifts and experienced the Spirit move in and around this community, we now learn about what the Spirit gives us in order to help us live our lives fully as Christians. Join us as our invited speaker Bro Oka shares with us on the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit!

This Sunday, we start at 8pm due to Confirmation Mass which will be at 5:30pm. If you are attending this Mass, pls grab a bite n the afternoon as there may not be time for dinner after that before CG starts. Also, please pray for all the confirmands, that this be the start of a journey together with God, guided by His Spirit for each and every one of them!

Also, for those of you who have not been with us the last 4 (awesome) sessions, please do come anyway! i'm sure you'll learn something and God will touch you in His own way through the speaker or the sharings or somewhere else in the course of the evening!

Announcements
1) End Year Retreat (Malacca, 18-22 Dec)
We still want facilitators, and now we want participants too! In the words of Elaine, "If you're 16-35, come for the EYR. If you're not between 16-35, i'm sure you know someone who is." So do get a form (at the main entrances of the church) for yourself or for someone else!

2) Youth on Eagle's Wings (YEW)
This is a programme started at the beginning of this year to minister to youths of the parish, for them to journey together and with God, to go beyond catechism and Confirmation and really find where God is in their daily lives. However, in order for the programme to continue next year, committed brothers and sisters are required! If you think you could help plan/deliver/support the programme in any way, contact Moses to volunteer your time!

OK that's all from me, hope to see you on Sunday!

In His Love
