evil vs love

Dear faithful walkers of Christ,

Just wan
ted to share the video (below) with everyone. I was rather moved by the little boy (Albert Einstein) who had the faith and courage to stand up for his beliefs. How often have we been dumbfounded when others question us about our faith? I know I still struggle with it sometimes...

Another thing that struck me was the message the boy was delivering. He says

"Cold does not exist. According to the law of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. Evil does not exist. It is just like darkness and cold. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when men does not have God's love present in his heart."

Our world is full of cynicism and disillusionment.
Just to be able to be positive and see the light amidst the 'darkness' takes courage sometimes. Negativity is so rife these days, I too often allow it to cripple me from doing God's work. Perhaps that too is our challenge to see and be God's light to those around us.

Lastly, what struck me most was the line "evil is the result of an absence of love". Love relates to our novena theme, and love is the only thing that can convert hearts and counter evil. I did promise to share what I hear at novena (I even equipped myself with pen and paper!), but it was very hard trying to understand Fr Jose's homily because of his thick Spanish accent. The main message I got was that

- love was to accept each other's flaws and imperfections; and
- love was to be humble the way Mary (and Joseph) were... Even Christ was of humble origin - he was born in a manger

(Amanda, please feel free to add on ok! :P)

Let us continue to be mindful of ourselves as vessels of God's light and love to those around us. :)

God bless y'all!
