=======================================
i like this song too!
food for thought tho, cos this really is an important topic in my life. i personally try to find out who i am because, well, God didn't write out my role in the blackboard of the sky. i wish He did tho, cos it would make the whole journey a lot easier.
i believe that we are truly meant to struggle. to find ourselves, to survive our trials, to become better people. i believe that our struggles will only end when we finally arrive in heaven (if we arrive in hell, then i guess we didn't really struggle enough. a whole other story for another day.)
while the Bible shares with us that we are instruments of the Lord, that our lives should be examples of his glory, what exactly should we be doing with that? does the Lord want me to do that as a rich man? perhaps as a road sweeper? or a priest?
and yeah, the answer is all of the above. which, well, doesn't really answer my question.
now, on to my guts of my rant:
the paradox of our existence is that we're given free will, while still being His subjects. i love free will. i love what it implies. especially useful in relationships.
"yes sweetie. men are capable of cheating. i'm possibly capable of cheating. never tried it out. but u see, what would u prefer to have? a man who cannot cheat? or a man who can, but doesn't because of his incredible love for you?"
lol! it's an awesome line to use! (pls buy me a beer each time u use that line and it works.)
but that aside, this is precisely why we're given free will. love that is given (and not forced) is so much sweeter. and well, that's exactly what our Lord wants.
the whole previous article got me thinking about free will, which in turn made me think about the upcoming session, sins and temptations. lol! gotta love the way the Lord works eh?
free will gives us choices. we can choose between what is good and what is easy. between submitting to ur desires and controlling them for the greater good. between sin and obedience.
we choose whether or not to do good deeds in the light or bad deeds in the dark. we occasionally do terrible things when we think no one's watching. and well, sometimes we justify it to ourselves.
how will we stop this terrible cycle? how can we live our lives such that we can be examples of Christ no matter what we do? no matter who's watching?
immediately, i can hear the answers. constant prayer, constant reminders that God is watching, fear of the Lord, anticipation of the rewards in Heaven, etc. but well, we all know that there's one true answer. in fact, the answer to everything.
(eh, please ignore the irrelevant parts. i'm just checking if anyone's paying attention. lol!)
Love. if we can keep that in our hearts all the time, we won't make any wrong decisions. if we love our fellow men, we won't try to undercut them, to manipulate them, to use them for our benefits. if we love, we will not feel jealous of other ppl's achievements, we will not try to rise higher than them by cutting them down. in fact, if our only motivation in life is Love, well, we'll pretty much solve all our world's problems by now.
but please, don't get me wrong. this is no easy task. while i say Love, it's not just about the people we like. it's about everyone else too. turning the other cheek, loving those that hate u, those are characteristics of love.
(side note: i saw an inspirational quote on tvmobile today! "I've learned that Love, and not Time, will heal all wounds.")
one last thing i would like to add: even if u have sinned, it doesn't mean that it's the end. as long as there's life, there's hope for salvation, for change. we are human after all. we are prone to err. our lifetime spent here allows us to live long enough to make the mistakes and then rectify them.

keep Love in ur heart, brothers and sisters. it really will save the world.
