Dear all Walkers,
Our community had a very Spirit-filled retreat over the weekend! Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes. The retreat was conducted by the good people from ICPE community: Amilia, Celine and Mike. Praise the Lord for working His wonders amongst us!
What is Emmaus Walk? Can it be eaten?
For those of you who are receiving this email for the first time, welcome to the Emmaus Walk community! Like the 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), we are, in one way or another, all going on a journey in search of the truth, trying to understand all that has happened in our lives, and making sense of our faith and what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Along this journey, we hope you encounter Christ, get a burning feeling in your heart, and tell others about it.
We meet weekly for cell group (CG) sessions, to praise and worship God, to break the Word of God and to share our lives with one another in small groups. Sundays, 7pm at A-Wing 3.
Why am I receiving this email?
This is an email sent weekly to update you on what's happening in Emmaus Walk. Announcements about upcoming events are also placed here. So even if you miss a few weeks of CG, you will still be kept up to date. If you wish to be taken off the mailing list, you can reply to this email address, but i hope you do allow us to keep in touch with you...
So what announcements are there?
1) No CG this week
because...
2) 40-hour Eucharistic Adoration - Restless Hearts
is on! For those who do not know, the youths of Nativity are organising a 40-hour Eucharistic Adoration from Friday 24 Jun, 7pm till Sunday 26 Jun, 11am. So instead of the 2 hours that we usually spend at CG, i encourage you to spend 2 hours in the prayer room (A1-3). Many of the church groups will be leading prayers throughout the Adoration, and there will be also time for silent reflection. If you can't spend 2 hours straight, you can do 2 x 1-hour slots. Do spend some time with Jesus in the form of the Blessed Sacrament, and let Him come to you in the silence. As St. Augustine says, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in you, O God."
CG will resume on Sunday 3 July, same time, same place. See you then!
In His love,
barry
for Emmaus Walk
