emmaus walk bulletin: 30 April

Dear all Walkers,

Apologies for the late email, the week has been rather hectic. But it is over, and this means another EW session is coming up!

Attached is an Easter card from Bro Cornelius. Thanks Bro Corn for remembering us in your prayers! :)

Last Sunday in CG
We considered the encounter of Mary Magdalene and her perspective of not seeing (and then later) the RIsen Christ. Are we sometimes blind to our shortcomings? Do we have certain expectations of what Jesus should look like / behave / do for us, and fail to see him for who he really is?

This Sunday in CG
This Sunday, we'll be having a movie night! We'll show a movie in the spirit of Easter, and Snacks and drinks provided, but feel free to bring your own too!

In other news,

1) It's Yo Momma
Moses needs people to help arrange flowers for sale on Mothers' Day, and the action is happening all on 7 May, 8am onwards and lasts the whole day. Do come whenever you can to help (but remember to go vote first!), they will be at St Joseph's Pavillion the whole day.

2) Everywhere we go, people want to know, who we are, where we come from, so we tell them...

what do we tell them? What is our history? Where did our faith originate? We have a special series of 5 sessions coming up, beginning 15 May, which will attempt to answer this. Our special speaker is Fr Kenson Koh so you can be assured that there is quality control... As always, come and see!

3) EW Retreat (Choice Retreat House, 8pm 17 June - 19 June, $70)

As we approach the halfway mark of 2011, we may have gotten a bit lost and too caught up with being Martha in our work/ministries. Come away for a few days to recharge and be Mary, just to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His voice. Places are limited as we are also going to open it up to the parish, but you lovelies get priority booking for another 2 weeks!

OK that's all from me, have a blessed Saturday, watch JPII's beatification if you can, and see you tomorrow night!

In His Love
