My eyes were welling with tears as I watched this video... This simple lady from a small country in Britain, who was less then desirable in looks, youth and fashion sense in the eyes of the audience and judges, held her head high and proud as she ascended the stage to present her performance... Despite the crowd jeering at her and mocking her whe she proclaimed that her dream was to sing for thousands of people, she remained unwavered and confident... As the lights dimmed and the music started, no one expected what was to come...
The first note left her lips.... Eyes widened, breaths stoppped and the air stood still...
The second note left her lips... Tears filled the eyes of dozens and guilt for being cynical and judgemental filled the auditorium...
The thrid note left her lips... Smiles broke on everyone's faces and all were left astounded and at a lost for words...
She had the voice of an angel... A voice that told a story... A voice so beautiful it had to be, without a doubt... A gift from our most beautiful God... A voice that triumphed over judgement and worldy expectations... A voice that claimed victory and shone in magnificent splendor.... A voice of a simple lady with a great dream....
To me, this is the very essence of our God... A transforming force in the simple and small :)
How brave have we been in challenging what is wrongfully done or thought in the world?
How many times have we let our worldy expectations cloud our ability to see the beauty in another person?
How often have we failed to appreciate the simple, pure, beautiful and life-giving?
How many times have we given up on our dreams because of our low self-esteem and pessimistic thinking?
I firmly believe that the Lord created all of us to praise him everyday of our lives... And these praises come in our courage to challenge what the world wrongful thinks and does, in our decision to be non-judgemental, in our ability to appreciate what is the true meaning of beauty and life and in times when we choose to believe that in God all things are possible....
Though we are all imperfect like this lady, in one way or another, we are perfect in God who completes us in all his power, glory, wisdom and beauty.... She who though was plain shone in radiance and beauty as she championed her cause...
Hope you guys enjoy the video :) P.S. another good video to watch is Paul Potts on youtube :)
Lots of Love, Clare
